Volunteer Programs

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Baltimore City CERT is a training and volunteer program that prepares residents to protect themselves, their families, and their communities before, during, and after emergencies. CERT members receive training regarding basic disaster prevention, preparation, and response skills, such as fire safety, basic search and rescue, team organization, communications, and emergency medical procedures.

SKYWARN® Weather Spotter Program

Are you interested in joining a national network of volunteer severe weather spotters? The National Weather Service and OEM periodically co-host SKYWARN® courses for City residents.

Meetings

Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)

The Baltimore City LEPC meets to discuss all-hazards preparedness and coordinate planning for hazardous materials incident response in the City. The meetings are open to citizens, businesses, public and government agencies.
